Thawabak is a free site that brings everyday tools for Muslims into one place. At its heart is the group khatma: family and friends complete the Quran together, each person reading one juz, with the reward dedicated to someone they love.
What Thawabak offers
- Group khatma: start a khatma for someone you love and share its link on WhatsApp. Each person reserves one of the thirty juz and marks it once read, and everyone sees the progress.
- Dua requests: post a request for someone who is ill, has passed away or needs ease, and say “Ameen” to other people's requests.
- Prayer times: today's times, the next prayer and the next thirty days for cities in Qatar, the Gulf and the region, or for your current location.
- Ramadan: a countdown to Ramadan and a full timetable for your city.
- Hijri calendar: today's date, the full Hijri month, a converter between the two calendars, and upcoming occasions.
What the name means
“Thawabak” means “your reward”. It recalls the saying of the Prophet ﷺ: “Whoever guides someone to good will have a reward like the one who does it” (Sahih Muslim). Everyone who shares a khatma link or prays for someone else takes part in that good.
How we calculate times and dates
- Hijri date: based on the Umm al-Qura calendar. It may differ by a day from the official announcement based on the moon sighting in your country.
- Prayer times: calculated astronomically on your device, using the method adopted in each country, such as the Qatar method for Qatari cities and Umm al-Qura for Saudi Arabia. They may differ by a minute or two from the official timetable, and the official authority in your country is always the reference.
- Imsak: 10 minutes before Fajr, as a precaution.
- Juz divisions: following the Madinah mushaf, with reading links that open Quran.com.
Our principles
- The site is free and needs no account or sign-in.
- We collect as little data as possible. See our privacy policy.
- Verses and hadith are quoted in full with their sources. We don't issue religious rulings.
- We review reported dua requests and remove anything that breaks our terms and conditions.
